This is the website of Kentucky author and historian, Bobbi Dawn Rightmyer. She is a life-long resident of Harrodsburg, the oldest European heritage town west of the Allegheny Mountains, and has been researching local history for over 30 years.
She is the author of two books. The first is Images of America: Harrodsburg and was co-authored with Anna Armstrong. Published in 2011, this book contains hundreds of historic photographs and historical information. Her second book is Born & Raised and was published in 2013. This book contains personal essays previously published in Mercer's Magazine, a subsidiary of The Harrodsburg Herald.
Her third book, Hidden History of Harrodsburg: Saratoga of the South, is scheduled for publication in January 2022. This book is about the medicinal springs of Harrodsburg and the grand hotels and spas of the era.
She is currently under contract for two more books: James Harrod, the Founder of Harrodsburg and Old Fort Harrod, Birthplace of Kentucky. They are scheduled for publication before the city's 250th-anniversary celebration in 2024.
